We offer a complete barrel threading / muzzle screw cutting service for all types of sound moderators and muzzle brakes / devices. All of our threads are cut on a lathe, and are concentric to the bore to provide an accurate and safe mounting point for any muzzle device. This is very important as you will seldom find a barrel where the bore is exactly in the centre of the diameter of the barrel profile. Therefore if the thread is simply cut to the outer diameter of the barrel it will not be concentric to the bore. This can cause the bullet to strike the baffles in your moderator. Finally, after the thread has been cut an 11 degree target crown is cut.
Any thread configuration can be cut, but depending on the rifle and its use we commonly use 1/2" UNF, 5/8" UNF and M18 x 1.
Barrel Threading, Prices start from £90
For an additional cost we can also supply a thread protector with either a knurled finish, or the smooth "invisible" type. See pictures below.
Thread cap £40
Barrel re-crowning only £50
The first part of the process, the barrel is dialled in to the bore to within 0.0002” ready for turning down.
The barrel is now turned down ready for threading with single point tooling.
The barrel is now screw cut ready for crowning.
The crown is now cut to 11 deg. Target crown.
